Driving around Chester, VT
Hi all,
I've got a B&B booked in Chester on 23rd/24th October.
Been reading on the internet about flood damage in Southern Vermont and it doesn't sound very promising in terms of the roads, though i haven't been able to find out any up-to-date information about Chester specifically.
Is it likely to be easy to get there from Keene, NH without running into any major delays?
And how feasible would it be to spend a day taking a scenic drive to/from Chester?
Plan B would be to cancel the B&B for a small charge and head elsewhere in Vermont with less disruption to the roads. Just not sure what would be a suitable destination.
Any information/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

there was a lot of damage in certain parts of Chester. the area around the B&B may or may not have been affected.
The Agency of Transportation map shows major state highway closures which would help plan a route. Most roads are open now but some are slow going. (Our governor says this is no problem since leaf peepers have to drive slowly to admire the foliage)

There could be additional town roads that are closed.
I would call the B & B and ask

We're staying at a B&B in Chester 10 days before you are and I wrote our B&B owner. She sent us this link:

It should be www.aot.state.vt.us. But I just realized it links to the same page that vttraveler suggested. Sorry for the confusion.
