huh?

want do you mean by terrible?

If you drive along CA-1 it is some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

It is a 6-7 hour drive if you go along the coast or 4-5 hour drive if you go directly on 101.

I want to drive it because of the beauty. I was just scared of the traffic.

Don't worry about the traffic until you get to LA.
Otherwise, frankandbeans is right, a beautiful drive. I would take the coast if you are visiting Calif.
What part of LA are you going to?

there may be some traffic especially on the weekend but it won't be terrible...Now LA that is a different story.

You will be on the coast side of the road and that makes a few people nervous but it really is not a big deal.

I don't recommend driving it on a summer weekend if traffic is a concern. It can really creep along if you're behind a tourist in a camper van going 15 miles an hour the whole way because they're afraid they'll fall into the Pacific.

Since its difficult to pass, you just hope that real slow driver's pull over to let others by. But the views are some of the best in California. Don't miss it. I would not worry about the traffic. Its going to be a lovely drive... unhurried..........

Take your top down and enjoy the ride.

You could even rent a convertible.
