I will be seeing Stomp Out Loud next month and want to know if there is a dress code. Do people wear their everyday "street clothes" or do they dress up?

Las Vegas is fun this way. Lots of people dress up, but just as many don't, so you can really do what you want. Make a night of it, dress to the nines, or if that's not your thing, just dress comfortably. Either way works! Have a good time.

By and large, people don't dress up like they once did. Street clothes would be fine. However if t-shirts, tank tops or shorts are what you consider street clothes, I'd call and check. I don't think you'd be kept out, but you'd want to be sure.

NOBODY is going to keep you out if you have on a t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops just as they don't kick people off of planes when they "wear" the same thing.

You can wear anything you want. I miss the days when people dressed to go to the shows. It always seems strange to me when you see the maitre de in a tux leading some guy in a dirty t-shirt, flip flops and shorts, in to the show. Those are also the people that want the "best" seats.

If you are expecting "class" in Vegas you will be extremely disappointed. Its the tackiest place on earth.

Since I was there for the first time in 1986, Las Vegas has extremely deteriorated.

Expect the worst regarding the dress of your fellow spectators.

Also expect the worst regarding the quality of drinks and food served during the show.

If you go to the right places you will see the extremely wealthy and extremely well dressed. That would be the Wynn, Palazzo, and Venetian.

If you go downtown you will see very odd things.

Stomp Out Loud is in between so you will see both people that dress nice and others that don't.

Out of curiosity, when was the last time you were in Las Vegas RBCal, and where did you go? Parts of the strip attract different social-dress type travelers. To lump the whole place as tacky is incorrect. I don't think the people paying 1k and up to gamble in Las Vegas are tacky and there are everywhere these days.

If you had visited LV recently you weould see that the strip has become more of a mecca for travelers from Asia and Europe which are known for dressing nice. Cheaper hotels, not so much. All Las Vegas is about is money. A rich person's Vegas is completely different than an average person's Vegas.

Have you walked outside on the Strip at night? It is carpeted with pornographic flyers for "escorts" including on the sidewalks outside the Venetian, Wynn, etc.

Anyone who thinks fake Venice, fake Paris, fake New York, etc. are classy hasn't traveled to the real classy thing.

Three quarters of the yellow pages are for "escort" services.

RBCal, I live in Las Vegas and have traveled to all the places you've mentioned.

The poster was asking about clothing attire, not the classiness of casinos, I said that the nicest hotels have the nicest dressed travelers.

Finally, I don't think anyone going to Las Vegas will substite the state/country themed casinos as the real thing. It is a playland for adults. You can go to shows, gamble, drink, etc. It does not advertise itself as a place for culture but rather amusement. It is a place where rich people will spend $2000 for a shot of Russian wine. Not many other places like that in the US.

I don't think of Vegas as either classy or tacky. Its just Vegas. You can't compare it with anything else. Vegas is great just the way it is.
