Downtown Seattle Hotels
Wife and I are doing a "weekend getaway" to downtown seattle and wondered which hotel you folks would suggest? We were thinking the Westin. Friends said their "heavenly beds" were comfy. We'd like to be in the middle of downtown so we can visit the waterfront, westlake, and maybe the Center. Any ideas or suggestions are always welcomed. Also, would appreciate if anyone has suggestions as to which web site or travel company would give us the best rates. We're looking at going April 5th through April 7th. Thanks to all for your input and time.

Someone suggested this site on Fodor's once and we used it last year, Seattle Supersavers:

I believe it's part of the Washington state tourism bureau. We had trouble booking the hotel we wanted online, so I called the toll free number and mentioned the site and they honored the prices, no problem. Lots of Seattle hotels participate, I believe they offer discounted rates off season. Good luck.

Mel, go to www.biddingfortravel.com to learn how to bid on Priceline. Great site and well worth your time. Quite a few people report good deals thru Priceline in Seattle, but you need to know what you're doing before you bid.
