Downtown Disney

Has anyone tried out the Jazz Kitchen at the new Downtown Disney? My wife loves jazz and I'm always looking for someplace new to take her on "date" night. Any advice on this place?

We love Downtown Disney, and walked by the JK and heard some great Jazz. They bring in some well know names there so you should have a great time.

Also take her for an ice cream sunday at Ghiradelli's Square, not to be missed.

Has anyone actually tried this place yet? Is the food any good? Price range? Is there a big cover charge? I enjoy a nice evening out, but just don't want to wipe out my entire entertainment budget for my wife and I in one evening.

Joy - Downtown Disney is a new entertainment center that recently opened in Anaheim - next to Disneyland and the new California Adventure. So while we thank you for trying to be helpful, I just want to point out to other posters, the website you recommend is actually for Disney World.

There is also a Downtown Disney in Orlando. Part of the area has a cover charge in the evening, and there are several restaurants including Hard Rock and a seafood restaurant can't remember the name.

The evening entertainment part is the area you have to pay for, jazz clubs and dancing spots, also there is an outdoor stage.

There are also a couple of upscale restaurants as well.

I'll bet the new Downtown in Anaheim is based on the complex in Orlando.

Sorry for the confusion. I am referring to the Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California. Has anyone out there tried the food at the Jazz Kitchen yet? How costly are the cover charges? Would I be better off to eat at one of the other restaurants in the center and then walk over to hear jazz? Any recommendations on the other restaurants. Thanks again.

I will be in Orlando for a Disney adventure in about a month. I read here that the Hard Rock Cafe is in Downtown Disney. I thought it was at Universal Studios. Can anyone verify this? Thanks!

Hard Rock in Orlando is located at Universal CityWalk, not Downtown Disney.

I'll be in Orange County next week on business and would be interested on some insight to this jazz club or any others that would be recommended. How bad are the cover charges in OC for decent jazz?

Is the food any good at this Jazz Kitchen?

There is a Planet Hollywood at Downtown Disney in Orlando, not a Hard Rock Cafe. Also to clarify, the part that charges a cover charge in the evening is Pleasure Island.

I think the place might be called Ralph's Jazz Kitchen, but not positively sure. Might want to check under that name.

The place is actually called: Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen
If the menu is anything like his restaurant in New Orleans, expect entrees in the $20 to $30 range.

Have the crowds died down yet at Downtown Disney or are there still 3 to 4 hour waits at all of the restaurants?

I was at the OC Downtown Disney Thursday night, window shopping from 7-8:30pm. I was also there opening weekend on a Fri or Sat night. Big difference. Though I did not dine on Thursday, I saw a few available tables through windows, and no big lines out the door. The mood was festive, but not wall to wall people like opening night. I can't imagine it could still be 3-4 hours. It did not look that crowded at all (I would guess more like a 40min to 1 hour wait).
