Door County, Wisconsin, I presume?

There are 3 or 4 state parks there with good hiking. There are plenty of sailing outfits if thats what you like. Lots of nice shopping. Lots of art galleries, great restaurants, nice beaches, fun people watching.

Tell us what you like to do and maybe we can help you some more.

Excellent golf course at Peninsula State Park. Same park has outstanding bike riding.

Now then, what attracted you to Door County to begin with? Surely you must know something to do there in order to book a trip? Things there change dramatically with the seasons, when are you going?

There are winery tours, galleries, shops, lighthouses, sunset cruises, plays under the stars. Lots of things to do there. Fish boils are popular.

Door County is fantastic! Its a great mix between a little New England countryside and a midwestern lakes community. If you hit cherry picking time (late July I think) there are all these little fruit stands along the roadsides. A fish-boil is another celebration not to be missed. The ferry ride to Washington Island - tho it can be windy and chilly is nice and Washington island is wonderful for a day trip. Door County is very touristy; great little towns with wonderful views of the lake while you shop in the little unique shops. On the other hand there's great hiking and golfing and boating. The seasons are all great; cherry blossoms in the spring and beautiful leaves in the fall. My friend is there right now and she'll be back soon with recommendations for places to stay. Let me know if I should pass them on to you. You've made a great choice for a vacation. Hope you have a wonderful time!

gandb7 has asked a similar question twice that I can see and never responded to the posts.

Are you still around? Do you respect the effort that responders have put if for your benefit?

It doesn't appear so.

Ouch placeu2! I didn't need a response. I just shared my enthusiasm for the joy of it. However Maybe you did need some feedback but maybe gandb7 just was busy. Let's be gentle with each other.

I don't feel I need a response either. And when I' the one who starts a post, I don't always respond either--doesn't mean I don't read and appreciate the responses.

I agree Sue. Unless someone has gone above and beyond in their reply or I have a comment or question to tack on, a reponse is not necessary.

I think that maybe gandb7 does not know how to retrieve his/her own posts once they slip past the first 50 messages. New posters often don't realize that they can click on their names to retrieve their threads.

Days you will be busy seeing the sites, road side farmers markets and shopping.
Evening, watch a sunset AND see a play at the Peninsula Players. Also Shakespeare Plays outside in Baileys Harbor. Fish Boil a must too.
Have fun, the people are great and you will not get a bad meal anywhere.
