Are you referring to the one in DC? I can't recall how the food is; it wasn't bad though. It has been some time since we have eaten there. I do recommend if you are going for dinner around the time of a hockey game or other event at the MCI Center that you make a reservation. Otherwise, you will wait forever for the food.

I've eaten there several times for lunch, and a couple of times for dinner. It's a strange place, in that the lunches have always been excellent, but the dinners were not good. I would not go back there again for dinner.
Also, I would avoid it at all costs if there's something going on at the MCI Center. Went there after a basketball game recently, and had to wait 45 minutes for a table (after being told it would be around 25 minutes). In the end, we were seated at a table that had been empty since we arrived. Also, our waitress for some reason seemed less than pleased to be waiting on us.

Yes, the one in D. C. There is a group of us going there on the 17th of May (perhaps they have a separate room for large parties?--30-60 of us, not sure).
But when I saw the choices, I was concerned. New York Steak smothered in molasses and something else and laden with onions (haystack). When I see things like that it makes me worry that they are "covering" for bad food.
The price is $60.
Last year our group went to the rooftop restaurant at the Kennedy Center which was very classy and good.
Now any more comments. Please! & Thank you,
Jean

A great new brewpub has just opened in the same vicinity - Gordon Biersch, in a beautifully-restored old Riggs Bank building. The food at their restaurant in Las Vegas is excellent, although I've only been to the opening event in DC and haven't actually had dinner there. The website is www.gordonbiersch.com; they may have info on the DC location and their ability to accommodate large groups.
I was particularly unimpressed with DC Chop House and would be unlikely to eat there again, at least at my own expense!

Although I haven't been there myself, I've heard that Nick & Stef's steakhouse at the MCI center is very good. The local critics have all had very positive things to say about it.
I really don't feel that the Chop House is worth the money or the effort.
