Does anybody have any advice about bringing a 2 year old to Disneyland?

Take lots of breaks away from the park. Bring them back in 3-5 years and 5-10 years after that so they will have some appreciation. Don't expect a vacation.

We live near Disneyland and have passes, and I take my 2-year-old a lot. There is a lot she can't do, but she does love it. Here are a few tips off the top of my head. The big train goes through a tunnel between the Small World area stop and the Main Entrance area. There are dinosaurs in here, and my daughter freaks out. FYI. The rides she likes, Dumbo and Peter Pan etc., get crowded with long lines, so we try to do these early. There is an area with highchairs and microwaves for bottles and diapers for sale, etc., that is just off Main Street. I have used this baby station a lot. I've never done this, but friends tell me that when one parent went on a ride with an older child, that they waited with baby at the exit. Then the parent who waited could cut the line with the older child and ride again. A baby-switch type thing. My daughter has not cared a whit about the parade, so I don't bother lining up for that. California Adventure has a a few play areas that she adores, where she can run around. A few have water features where they get soaked but cool off and have a good time. I don't think going with such a young child is ideal, but it can be a lot of fun, too.

Frankly, I would wait until the child is a bit older unless you are dying to go. A two year old would enjoy a day at a playground just as much but, in a couple of years, he/she will love Disneyland.

Go! Your 2 year old willahve a great time, and you will enjoy watching the 2 year old's reactions even more. Our son first went to Disneyland at 2. He loves to look at the pictures from his first trip.

Depends on whether he/she is easily scared. My poor nephew was afraid of just about every ride except the Casey Jr. Circus Train. And he doesn't remember a thing about it now. He liked the characters, but was even a bit afraid of them. Unless the parents want to go, I might just go to a character breakfast at one of the hotels. Paradise Pier probably is the best for kids. And yes, there is a "baby switch pass" at the rides with a height limit. Ask the castmember, You only need to wait in line once.

the "baby swap" mentioned above is great. it allows both parents to only wait in line once but both can ride. and, if you have an older child with you, they can usually ride twice - once with each parent. it's a very good system.

We've taken our daughters to Disneyworld when they were that age and we had a wonderful time. We didn't even take breaks - our little ones were always pretty good about falling asleep on the go. We loved seeing their amazed faces and aren't 2 year olds free? What do you have to lose?

One of my parents' favorite stories about me is about when they took me to Disneyland when I was two and I slept the whole time, including through "scary" rides like Haunted House.

Unless you have an older child whom you want take, why not wait a couple more years. I mean, you are going for the kid aren't you? Whats the point if they sleep through it?
