Disneyland Solo?

After 12 years I'll have the opportunity to be in Anaheim on my own for a week end. I worked at Disneyland in college and I'm really curious about the changes that have happened since I last saw the place. I'll only have Saturday to visit the park. I travel alone a lot but do you think it will be weird to be at Disneyland alone? Will the parks be open in the evening in late September still?
Thank you!

I think Epcot, in particular, would be a lovely area to stroll on your own and not at all "weird."

Um - MelJ - no Epcot in Anaheim . . . .

chevre: Absolutely nothing weird or unusual about going to DL solo. I haven't been in about 4 years. But have been maybe 15 times or more over 40 years and probably 2/3 of my visits have been alone.

One change that may be new since your last visits -- is the fast track. The popular rides let you reserve a time to ride later in the day w/o waiting in the lines. So hit all the biggies and get your times for later in the day.

Also (unless it has changed in the last 4 years) - singles can bypass the lines for the Indiana Jones ride. Singles go in a separate entrance and go pretty much to the front.

Many of the major rides will have the Fast Pass and the single rider line, which will get you up front quicker.

Have fun. No one will know you, so no one will think its weird being alone.

I don't think it's weird at all. About 20 years ago my DH was in Anaheim at a conference, and he played hooky one day and spent the day at Disneyland by himself - he had a blast. Also, a few years ago I chaperoned my son's high school chorus when they went to perform at DW. For most of two days, while they were taking various Disney-led performing workshops, I was free to wander by myself, and I really enjoyed that. I've been to Disney several times with the family over the years, but it was really nice to take things at my own pace and do exactly what I wanted to do, no negotiating with the others about what to do next. I did things in a more relaxed way, and spent time exploring lots of the smaller attractions that we wouldn't have normally done, enjoying the various gardens, spent time people-watching, etc.

The Disneyland website has a calendar that shows what hours the various parks are open each day. It shows that on Saturdays in September the Magic Kingdom is open until midnight, and California Adventure is open until 9:00 PM.
