It should be fairly quiet at that time. But, as with the other poster, it's been quite a number of years since I've gone at that time. Used to like it because all the winter/Christmas stuff is out, but the crowds aren't there yet.
The Wed. after Thanksgiving is probably as good as a time to go as any. The crowds will definitely be a lot lighter and you will get to enjoy all the holiday decorations.
The crowd may pick up at night as the locals will go after work but it will still be nothing like the weekend mob scene.

OK, thanks for the comments. I haven't been to Disneyland in 10+ years. I am going with a bunch of lady friends, none of us have ever seen Disney for the holidays. We are hoping next Wednesday will not be as chaotic as summer or Christmas vacation.
Go, vivi, go!
The week surrounding Thanksgiving is a mad house, but afterward, things are settled down.

The best time to go to Disneyland is the period after Thanksgiving until right before Christmas. As noted, it will be a lot quieter than summer or Christmas vacation. It also is a good time to visit other tourist destinations if you are able to get the time. Off season is a good time for travel.
I just went to disneyland this past tuesday right before Thanksgiving. It turned out to be a great day to go, crowds were very bearable and we usually had no more than a 5 minute wait for a ride (only exception was Soaring over Ca in DCA which was 45 min.) Kids and I were shocked at how easy Disneyland was that day. I also was able to make a priority reservation for the blue bayou restaurant (Disneyland's only sit down public restaurant)just the day before our visit. That has never happened before. We usually go the first week of dec. and it is pretty quiet. the decorations looked great and the new president of disneyland is really putting money back into the place with finally doing painting etc. hope this is helpful, itsv
Hi All,
We are planning a trip from Australia to visit friends in SF, probably end nov/ begining dec and have been wondering if this was an ok time to do Disney. It looks as if the crowds will be down which is great
Can anyone give me an idea of how cold it will be and is it a rainy time of year??
I would rather be visiting earlier, maybe late summer/early autumn but it doesn't look possible. I am a little concerned about the weather!!
thanks

Late Nov/early Dec can be a great time to visit Disneyland because the crowds are way down. (Unless you go during the Thanksgiving Day weekend, which is November 24 - 27)
Weather-wise? It is really difficult to say. I live here and don't know what to tell you! Sometimes we can get a cold snap and the temps won't get much above the lower 60s. Then again, we might have the Santa Ana winds blowing and the temps could be in the 80s. The weather might be clear, overcast, or raining - or all three!
My suggestion would be to dress in layers, but do bring along a warm jacket - the evenings usually do get cooler, even when we have the Santa Anas blowing. A light, travel-sized umbrella that fits into a daypack or backpack will work. When it rains here one can buy those rain ponchos for an inexpensive price. Personally, I almost prefer doing Disneyland in the rain, as long as my mindset is geared for it. You will get wet, but you will have the park almost to yourself.
Sorry I can't give you a more predictible account of the weather, but here in So Cal anything is possible!

We live in Orange County and have passes, and this is the time we always try to go. We head there in the late afternoon, get a Small World Holiday fast pass if the crowds are heavy, check out the decorations, grab a bite to eat and find seats for the holiday parade. (We like watching it on Main Street at Christmastime.) It's always colder than I think, and each year I end up buying mittens or a hat or something for the kids. The whole scene is really fun. This year, even though it was too windy for fireworks the night we were there, they did the whole snow routine and it was still very nice.
Thanks guys,
Even cold it sounds lovely! And the chrismas decorations would be a wonderful bonus. We tend to holiday in the summer and go to Australia's theme parks when the weather is warm. So visiting disneyland in winter, just before christmas would be really different adding to the whole experience.

We have a running joke in our family around this time, and it's over putting up the Christmas lights. The long Thanksgiving weekend at the end of November is always ideal (or so we think) to drag the lights out of mothballs and decorate the outside. Thanksgiving and the Friday are generally ok, but that Sat. and Sun., it ALWAYS seems to rain! Then it's clear the next five days, and rains the following weekend.
