Disney World with family
I am Planning a trip to Disney World for Mid-October for about 4-5 days. It will be myself, my husband, our 2 year old daughter, my parents and sister. Can anyone recommend some hotels and/or other options? I thought it might make sense to stay in a condo/cottage type place, that would allow us to make breakfast, have snacks, and have two bedrooms/baths. ALso, what is a good itinerary? How many days at WDW, Epcot, Universal. Has anyone done this type of trip with a two year old and if so, what would you recommend? Yor suggestions and ideas would be most helpful. Thanks in advance.

There is a LOT of great info on WDW at www.disboards.com They have discussion boards on lodging, the parks, planning, bargains, etc.
Get to the parks early and then go back to your hotel and enjoy the pool while your daughter naps.

Allyson,
We took our daughter to Disney World when she was 2 (last November). My mother also tagged along. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. The Villas consist of 1 or 2 bedroom condo type accomodations with living room (pull out sofa), kitchen, shower and whirlpool tub. Needless to say, the location of the hotel is very convenient as you will be travelling with a little one. You can take a boat or bus to all the parks.
As much as we wanted to get an early start each morning, we found ourselves leaving the hotel later than expected. So we really never came back for afternoon naps. We went for 5 days and left one day to spend time at the pool and then headed out later that afternoon.
I would highly recommend the Crystal Palace for lunch. My daughter loved the Pooh characters! The pictures we have of the endless smiles are incredible. I think your 2 year old will enjoy the Magic Kingdom, MGM (Bear in the Big Blue House, Little Mermaid (our daughter found some of the show to be too loud), Beauty and the Beast show, and the afternoon parade. We visited Epcot at night for the parade and had a wonderful dinner at the Japanese restaurant.
Have a wonderful time!

Allyson,
I live in central florida and go to Disney frequently. If you want to stay on site, I highly recommend the Old Key West Resorts. In a 2 bedroom villa, you have a king size bed, 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa. In addition you have a full kitchen (including dishes, toaster, stove, microwave, etc.) and a full size washer and dryer. The also have 2 bedroom villas at the Boardwalk. If you want to stay off site, try the Homewood Suites on US 192 across from Celebration. They also have 1 and 2 bedroom suites with a full kitchen, but the rooms only have 2 double beds and a pull out sofa. But they are half the price of Disney and offer free breakfast. They also have a full kitchen.
I believe all of you will enjoy Magic Kingdom and the adults will enjoy Epcot. Animal Kingdom can be done in half a day. Universal is pretty cool and Islands of Adventure has really cool thrill rides.
Enjoy
