Stayed there 2 months ago and really liked it. I'd reccomend the concierge level.
By far, the most complete Poly site is this one

I hear that the Polynesian Resort is WAY over priced.
Why not consider the Hyatt Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando? It is supposed to be fabulous. A wonderful waterfall in the pool and slides also.
I wouldn't pay the price that the Polynesian is asking, the pictures look really bad.

Let's face it...WDW is overpriced but people still go there.
If you can be reached at grandcypress.com, I guess that makes you an employee. That's not really an objective opinion.
I'm sure there are nicer hotels in the Orlando area, but the location and transportation from the Poly is a tremendous benefit.

While I agree that staying onsite is the way to go, I would not recommend the Polynesian. It is very dated, damp and stuck in a 70's decor that I find really ugly. This resort is in dire need of a renovation.
Try the Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach Club or the Swan/Dolphin. All of these resorts are just as convenient, since they are within walking distance of Epcot and MGM studos, newer, nicely decorated and have wonderful pool areas, particulaly the Boardwalk and Yacht/Beach Club. For more info try disboards.com.

We stayed there 2 years ago and it was nice. The room and the people and the pool and the food in their restaurant. I could find nothing to complain about other than after 6 nights we had to move to the Caribbean Beach.
For us the nicest thing was being on the monorail line. Made getting to the other parks easier and quicker than the buses which sometimes were full and running late.

There is a lot more info on the WDW resorts at www.disboards.com The Polynesian is wonderful, the room, the pool, the restaurants, the monorail, the view of the castle & Fireworks at night were wonderful. Have fun planning!
