Disney World

We are planning our first trip to Disney World and plan on staying at Disneys Old Key West Resort. Any information on this hotel and the park would be great. We are traveling with a 2yr old and a 5yr old. Any tips would be appreciated.

I have been to Disney World four times and last year is the first time I did not go. I always stay at one of Disney's Resorts they are great. The Key West Resort is very nice and is made to look like your in Key West. The rooms there are nice and at this resort you should have more space, then at some of the other resort rooms. The service is great and it is always very clean there. There is so many things to do for kids and they do have babysitting services. I can not say enough good things about Disney World and if you are going in the spring it is alot less crowded then in the summer when I always went. I am sure you will have a great time because there is endless recreationaal opportunities. Disney's resorts are so much nicer then any other resorts in Orlando and since you are staying here you will have a great time and they have buses that bring you to all their parks. You really do not need to drive here if you do not want to.

I have been to Disney World 17 times and can tell you that it is simply the greatest place. Since you are a resort guest, you can get into the parks an hour early. Each day, a different park is open early for guests. make your dining reservations well in advance. The number 407-WDW-DINE. The children will love the character breakfasts. Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom has one with Winnie the Pooh; Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Hotel is also a good one. The breakfasts at Cinderella's Castle need to be booked at least 60 days in advance since its the most popular. Lines are the shortest at the very beginning of the day and at the end. Also, they are shorter during the parades. When you get to the parks, grab a map and check the times and locations of character appearances. Transportation is very convenient for resort guests. Shuttles run all day between parks and resorts every 20 minutes. You didn't say when you will be there, but if you are there before April 22, you can still see Disney's Animal Kingdom. It officially opens on 4/22, but it is open now to resort guests. I saw it this past weekend. Everything was open and there were no lines. Regardless when you go, the children will love seeing the animals. If you have any more questions about Disney, please feel free to email me at any time. It is my absolute most favorite place in the world and want to share all my experiences. Have fun!

Our first trip four years ago was with a nine
month old and five year old. We have been two
additional times since. Each trip was great. I
reccommend highly getting The Unofficial Guide to
Disney World by Bob Sehlinger. It gives answers
to all of your questions and answers to questions
you didn't know to ask. We have followed their advice and have never been disappointed. The book not only gives suggested itineraries for families with small children but also rates and describes all of the rides and eating places. Have a great time!
