Disney Quest????
Has anyone been to the Disney Quest in Chicago (or Orlando for that matter)? I would appreciate your input as to whether or not your children enjoyed it. I have one son, age 14, and he is excited about doing this. I was going to purchase him the unlimited play ticket, but his Dad and I were going to get the discounted (2-3 hours of play) ticket since we really aren't into "games", but will be going for him and following him around doing what he wants to do. Any information would be appreciated!! I understand your ticket gives you all day, in and out, admission. Is that correct?
Thanks in advance for any help offerred.

Pam,
I have been to the Disney Quest in Orlando. I would recommend getting passes that allow all to participate in the games. A lot of them are interactive and are more fun with people. For example, there is a river rafting adventure which would likely not be much fun alone.
It is a little pricey, and I had enough after about half the day, so those were the only downsides. The technology and games though, are very impressive.

Pam,
Our family was in Orlando in Noveber and we spent almost a full day at DQ (from about 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) which was too much for 45 year old parents but good for kids ages 10, 12 and 14. It is a lot of fun and very incredible technology but all that virtual reality stuff (wearing heave helmets, noise levels way too loud, etc...) was kind of sickening and headache producing for me. Also, my beef with Disney on it was that we went on a Sunday morning (theorhetically a SLOW time so we would not have to wait forever for everything) but Disney just staffed the thing at half capacity so even though there were fewer people, the waits were annoyingly long since they had so few staff running the events. This was especially ridiculous since the tickets are quite pricey...good luck, Maria

I have a daughter 12 who LOVED DQ in Orlando last year when we went. We all did most of one day there. I loved the area with old arcade games (Dig Dug, Centipede, Ms Pac-Man) I remembered from my teen years. I let my daughter return one day by herself - we waited until she entered, then met at the gift shop at prearranged time. Very Safe in Orlando - lots of security, only one entrance and one exit. It is LOUD, not a good choice if an adult is prone to migranes. My daughter met a girl from england, my daughter & this kid spent most of first day together, and the girl's mother & I spend lots of time following our kids around and doing some things together ourselves. Lots of fun, and we ended up eating out with this family. I also took my 5 year old who enjoyed the artist area & raft ride, but was too short to ride some things. The DQ at Orlando had a one-price ticket that included everything when we were there (unless you wanted to buy a toy or picture you had designed), pricey but worth it. Try to find a slow day & go to avoid a lot of waiting.
