disney in June

I am planning a trip to Disney during the first week of June - has anyone tried it at that time of year? Are the crowds simply
terrible?

Also, what about the crowds at Universal during that time frame?

well, didn't go 1st week but one year I went approx June 15 or 16, for a 2 week stay.

The crowds weren't "terrible" in mid June, it was merely "crowded", and attendance got noticeably heavier by end of June.

My mid-June trip was noticeably more crowded than my "usual" 2nd half of August, but not as crowded as between Xmas & New Year.

I did decide to not go in mid-late June ever again, unless I had no flexibility.

So if it's a choice between going & not, definitely go, but plan ahead more (dinner resvs couple of days ahead, etc). If possible stay an extra day or two so you don't get stressed out. I didn't get stressed on the Xmas trip, knowing in advance it would be crowded, and adjusted my attitude accordingly.

If you have a

I'd be interested in your responses, as we are heading to the same place in early June as well. If you have any ideas, feel free to e-mail me.

The Gay Days celebration is the first week in June and more than 100,000 are expected this year. Hotels are at high occupancy and rates are pretty high as well.

lynn: We were there around the 20th of June for 3 nights last year. As soon as school is out it get's much more crowded. The first week of June might be less crowded as not everyone is out of school yet. However, we found the crowds quite manageable. Mornings and late afternoon/evenings were the best times for the rides (lines not as long). Try www.wdwinfo.com. Pete Werner's site has great discussion boards. We're able to get detailed answers to all our questions. I haven't been to Univeral YET but try Pete Werner's Univeral Studio's site at www.usfinfo.com. Have a great trip!
