Disney changed it's passes a bit the last time we were there (last May). The five-day Park Hopper used to get you in to the waterparks and Discovery Island for "free". That is, it didn't take a day off of your pass if you spent the whole day at a minor park, and didn't visit a Theme Park. Also, you could enter the waterparks for 7 days after you first used it for a waterpark. And day's that went unused were good indefinately. (For example, we would spend four days in the Theme Parks, and four days at the water parks, using only four days on our pass, and keeping one day to apply to our pass next year). It was a better deal in that we could do everything, and still "save" one day. Now, however, the Hopper takes a day off of your pass when you spend time at a waterpark, and only the Disney Sports Complex is "free". That is to the best of my knowledge, and perhaps someone else can add to this knowledge. We were very upset to see this change, and arent't going back this year, (not because of that, however. Just trying someplace new!)so they may have made changes again to their pass system. If not, my family will get a length of stay pass next year. At last checking, they were a bit cheaper, and a five day wouldn't cover a 10 day visit for us like it used to.

Hi Karen,
Last June we bought a 5 day hopper pass, which meant that for 5 days, you could jump between any of the parks and the waterparks. Even if the passes have changed as Susan mentioned, they are still worth it. Most of the guide books mention that there are differences in crowds for each park at certain times. We used the world hopper pass to see all the parks, and then go back to our favorite stuff before we left. Or after a long day of walking around, it was so refreshing to cool off for an hour or so at one of the water parks. The other neat thing is that I think you can upgrade the hopper pass (before you use it). My boyfriend and I went with another couple, just when the new Animal Kingdom park opened and we upgraded our pass for something like $5 before we used the pass. When we went to the animal park, the other couple changed thier mind and when they went to upgrade, they found it was just cheaper to buy a one day pass to the park!!! I don't know if this information helps or not, but I'd stick with the hopper pass. I also know that the feature forum is about disney, with a "disney" expert, you may want to ask her (Karen Cure, i think her name is!). Have a great time!!!

The only real difference between LOS and Hopper passes is the price, and the fact that Hopper passes don't expire, whereas LOS passes are good from the time you check in to midnight the day you check out (LOS are also only available to resort guests). For our next trip to Disney, my husband and I are purchasing All in One Hopper passes; it turns out that LOS passes would be about a $100 more for us (the fact that we are staying at 2 different resorts during our trip changed the pricing a bit). Keep in mind that Park Hopper passes only include the theme parks, while All in One Hopper Passes also include the water parks and Pleasure Island.

Karen,
We just returned from a week at Disney, and I would highly recommend the hopper..it does give you so much flexibility to come and go as you want. You didn't mention the ages of kids(if there are)..but anyone over 9 pays an adult rate.

If you are a Florida resident, I suggest that you purchase a Florida resident seasonal passport. Good most of the year (except June - August, xmas and easter week) and allows you to hop between all of the parks.

Other than that, I agee that a length of stay pass is not a bad idea.
