Directions from San Jose to Sausalito

I am looking for the best route from the San Jose airport to Inn Above Tide in Sausalito. Since I got that great $230.00 rt airfare from Philadelphia I am really looking forward to going back to the Bay Area again. We would be driving from San Jose on a Saturday afternoon. If any locals have any tips on a good route I would appreciate it.
thanks
Kirsten

Since it's Sat my best guess would be straight up 101 and over the GG Bridge.

The best way, but not the most scenic, is to head north on Highway 101. Ask the car rental place how to get onto 101 northbound from the airport.

Go all the way north on 101 till you're almost past San Francisco International Airport. Then take Interstate 380 which is very short, less than 2 miles, and cross over to Interstate 280 NORTHBOUND.

Go about six miles north on Interstate 280 and take the left fork which says "Highway 1 NORTH, 19th Avenue, Golden Gate Bridge".

As you exit the freeway here, stay in the MIDDLE lane and go for about 15-20 minutes in city traffic. The road will curve around a bit, but just stay in the middle lane and keep with this road. 20 minutes later you should find yourself on the Golden Gate Bridge.

Immediately after you cross the GG Bridge, there will be an exit "Alexander Avenue". Take that exit. Follow it curving downhill and you should be along the Sausalito shoreline where your Inn will be located.

easy t....that's kinda what I said.

And if it's a gorgeous day, take the other direction at Alexander, back under 101 and go see some of the BEST views you will get anywhere in the world.

Hi, Kal!

Well, sorta, kinda, mostly...

Except that if they were to keep going on 101 into SF, they'll end up on Van Ness and Lombard, if they're lucky, or over across the Bay in Oakland, if they're not!

Otherwise, Kal, you're a real sweetie!
