dinner reservations

What time should I make dinner reservations before a 8PM show..I know after the show is preferred by many, but we're early to bed people.

Is 6PM to late, we're doing Roberto Passon. Show is at the Eugene O'Neill.

That's fine, unless you're very slow eaters. Just tell them (I'm sure they'll ask anyway) that you have a show at 8 and they'll have you out in time. Just so you're out the door at 7:45 to be safe.

6 pm is when I make mine. I don't know anyone who eats a full dinner after theater. Be sure to tell your server that you have an 8:00 curtain. I would also advise any women in your party to use the ladies room in restaurant before leaving because the lines in the theater can be very slow.
Enjoy!

"I don't know anyone who eats a full dinner after theater."

Well, now you do! We always do -- although rarely three full courses, usually just a main and maybe "half of us" have dessert. And trust me, we are far from alone in the theatre district doing that. Some places are packed with post theatre diners, and some we must book a week ahead or you just don't get in --Joe Allen, for example.

Of course, we're there on vacation and we aren't getting up at 6 AM the next morning to go to work! Our whole schedule in NYC shifts to later than at home. I'd much rather sleep on a full meal and a drink or two, than try to watch a show -- which would end up involving sleep as well!

"Of course, we're there on vacation..."
Well, that does make a big difference. I probably go more on week nights than weekends and am definitely not on vacation here. And, yes, when I am on vacation, I do keep different hours too. And you're right about two drinks - doesn't work too well before a play - at least not for me - I could end up with severe whiplash if you know what I mean.

Rhea, I currently have 9800 open table points. I get 100 more this weekend for a reservation. I need one more open table reservation before going to NYC and I'll get $100 worth of free dining. That's in addition to the $100 I cashed in and used for a dinner in December!

Yea. I'm a big Open Table fan. What Rhea refers to is that often restaurants give 1000 points (worth $10) instead of the usual 100 points (worth $1) when you make a reservation at later hours.

And the beauty of this Neo is that you will replenish those points w/your June stay.
I saw Crimes of the Heart last week
which I did not enjoy BTW, but day was not a total loss. Ate lunch at the Times Sq. Havana Central (new to me), picked up 1000 pts. & really enjoyed the cute place & food. Very surprised re points but will return!
See you & Lee on 6-7!!!

uh-oh. Are you saying there's a GTG on June 7? If so, I didn't know. We have tickets to The New Century for the matinee then.

Yup. No chance of exchanging them for the evening performance is there?
