Following is an address for the Post & Courier's restaurant guide to give you an idea of location, prices, etc. You can also get the in-depth reviewers overviews on many of the restaurants.

Downtown would recommend (med. to high end range)--Carolina's, Slightly North of Broad, and-for the ambience--82 Queen. If you're up to driving out to Isle of Palms, our very favorite restaurant is The Boat House at Breach Inlet (843-886-8000 -- you'll need reservations!). It's got spectacular water views, is casual, outstanding seafood and filet mignon to die for! They've also just opened a larger restaurant - The Boat House on E. Bay (it's just north of the downtown area). It's gotten rave reviews.
If you need any more info, just e-mail me...Carol

There's a great chocolate store on the main road into Beaufort. Pull into town, take a carriage ride and, then, pick up some chocolate on your way out. I would only do this as a side trip on the way from Charleston to Savannah.
Slightly North of Broad (S.N.O.B.) is very good - a perfect way to cap off a late afternoon or early evening walking tour of Charleston.
It's Shem Creek relative, Slightly Up the Creek, is even better, particularly if you like sea food. You might want to combine it with a trip to Patriot's Point and a ferry to Fort Sumter. Boone Hall Plantation is also in the general area, and fully deserves to be bypassed.
Drayton Hall, Middleton, and Magnolia, on the other hand, are clearly worth checking out. Drayton hall was easily the most interesting/informative tour I took in the area. Middleton is remarkably beautiful in the Spring, but may not be as attractive in mid-June.
In general, I found Charleston nice, but overrated as compared to nearby Savannah. Many would disagree.
Have fun.

There is this great place in Beaufort and I can't remember the name but it is a very crowded little restaraunt owned by the chef and the food is absolutely outstanding. There are not really that many restaraunts in the area, so if you asked a local, I know they would know this place.. Wish I could remember the name..
