Dining at MK in Chicago

Would like a review from anyone who has eaten at MK in Chicago.

Thanks

Haven't eaten there yet, BUT:

A)Everyone I know or know of has raved about it and;
B)It is impossible to get reservations. Even Oprah couldn't get in until she had the chef on her show.

Thanks for your reply. I have reservations for this Sunday. I am really looking forward to it. I'll post my review later.

I was there on Friday and had NO trouble getting a reservation. Wonderful food, good price, cool location. Also try Blackbird - very cool spot.

Lin,
Great for you that you were so lucky, but I do know lots of people who had trouble getting reservations there. Maybe the hoopla has died down a bit.

both MK and Blackbird get a huge "thumbs-up". I've never had a bad experience/meal at either place. In fact, you can always be assured of an excellent meal at both places. Reservations are not impossible to get--just try to reserve mid-week instead of the night of your visit.

As a native Chicagoan, can enthusiastically recommend MK as my favorite in the city. A great place for visitors to the city b/c it shows the best of Chicago - classy, but laid back, with the city's exposed brick interior, cozy-modern interior and friendly waitstaff in Banana Republic.

If you have trouble getting reservations, might I recommend lunch? It sounds bizarre, but MK without question is serving the best cheeseburger in the city! (They also have more sophisticated fare...)
