destin

I am planning to spend a month this winter in this area. Any tips for reasonably priced accomadation within sight of sea shore would be appreciated.

Southern Living magazine usually has classified ads for condos such as you are seeking.

Destin is a great area. We were there last April and stayed at the Tops'l. A little pricey though. You might check with Abbott's Realtors. They're very helpful. Also, Fort Walton Beach is just a few miles from Destin and I've stayed at the Nautilus Condominiums there. Very nice. Enjoy yourself

There are so many options in Destin that it just boggles the mind! We've used Abbott Resorts several times and found them very helpful. They have an extensive website, which is www.resortquest.com/abbottresorts/index.cfm and that should get you started. The east end of the beach going toward Sandestin and Grayton Beach is somewhat less built up than the end where Henderson Park is. The beach is also a bit wider. I'd take a look at websites first and then make phone calls for specific questions, if you're interested in golf, tennis, etc.

We were about to book a stay for Valentine's weekend at a recently remodeled gulf front townhouse for $150 per night, see:

but we are flying into pensacola and it is too far for us...: (
It is next to Seaside, a really quaint gulf front community about 15 miles east of destin.
