We really enjoyed the espresso creme brulle at the Flying Fish. Are you referring to the Dilettante chocolates? www.dilettante.com
We also had some killer cheesecake at Salty's on Alki Beach. ***kim***

Gelatiamo at 1400 Third Avenue (across from Benaroya Hall and Wild Ginger) serves wonderful pastries and gelato. A dish of three gelato flavors goes for $4.
The coconut cream pie at Dahlia Lounge and next door bakery is considered one of the outstanding desserts in Seattle. The chocolate eclair is good too.

Hi Kim, I stayed at the Plaza Inn in Ashland which is a really nice place, but there was a HUGE problem checking in. I arrived at 3:30 and had to make a lot of noise to get into a room at 4:45. Otherwise it was delightful. We had dinner at Quniz, which was OK but not great. I wanted to go to Peerless, but it wasn't in the cards.
I'm eager to revisit the Plaza Inn when the manager is on duty.
In Newport we stayed at The Landing which is a fairly new condo down past the harbor. We had a one-bedroom apartment with full kitchen and a terrace overlooking the marina and bridge--very nice. Dinner at April's wasn't as thrilling as the first time. My serving of fish was tiny. It didn't bother me, but most men I know would have had to go out for a hamburger after that meal.

What did they say the problem was, isn't check-in at 4:00 there? We've never had a problem before. Did you take advantage of the PBJs and chocolate chip cookies?
We also really like the Ashland Springs Hotel, I prefer that when it's just the two of us traveling. You can get some really good rates there, once we stayed for $59/night in a suite for some promotional for repeat customers.
Too bad you didn't get to try Peerless, any place but Cucina Biazzi! I just heard from someone else who had a really terrible time there. ***kim***

Shuddup, relaford.
No, really, it's Larsen's Danish Bakery. Only open to 6, so not in the same game as Dilletant or King Tom.
Actually, go next door for major league pastrami at Cascioppo Bros. deli, then follow it up with something from the bakery. Mama mia, ya betcha. Ethnic confusion of the best kind.

The Dahlia bakery is take out only but all of the Douglas restaurants serve the pie, it is very good!
Macrina Bakery on 1st in Beltown has excellent desserts too, they are only open until 9pm though.
On Queen Anne there is a gelato place too called Dolce Vita, very tastey as a competitor to the much known Gelatiamo.
