Denver to Rapid City

We will be driving from Denver to Rapid City in September. We have 2 day to sight see. Any suggestions- Cheyenne, Laramie etc. RMNP?
Rapid City booked Buffalo Round Up and tour of Mt Rushmore, Custer.

Thank you,

Go up to hwy 14 to Stoneham and on 71 thru the Pawnee national Grassland. Continue to Scottsbluff. See Scotts Bluff and maybe Chimney Rock. Then visit Agate Fossil Beds and then in Chadron, the Fur Traders Museum.

A lesser known National Park to visit on the way to Mt. Rushmore is Wind Cave NP in SD.

Thank you,
if you have not visited RMNP, it might be worth the day detour to drive there, if it might not be on your list again.
(A "tour" of Mt Rushmore? You go into the visitors center and look at the displays, check out exhibits, and look at the carved rock face....)
