Denver: Restaurant Report Card

I thought this report was interesting. These are the health department’s top 10 fined restaurants.

A few of the restaurants on this list surprised me. Maybe next time I visit another city, I'll look for this information before picking out restaurants!

Any of your favorites on this list?

Interesting, but from my experience in my town, it is the same ethnicity that have the low scores. Our Asian restaurants are awful in that category.

Sorry, I don't want to get into stereotyping.

Actually Kevin Taylor's Palettes was fined $1000, and Kevin Taylor's Prima, $750.
So was the swanky Denver Country Club, $1000. And Elway's @ Ritz Carlton hotel, $750.

Well, truth is truth. I am NOT sterotyping, but the majority on that list are as I described here.
I do sort of think it is a ho hum and not surprising in ANY city. What would you like to discuss about it?

Not going there, Gretchen. You're sending this thread sideways and no one wants that.

What would I like to discuss? Hmmm. This isn't a seminar.

Visitors to Denver could be interested as they choose restaurants.

I totally agree with your last statement and that is fine. You said "no one is interested". I'd be glad to discuss--sorry the higher end ones also had violations. I'm sure day to day in the business, there can be breakdowns at every level of dining.
I truly truly am not stereotyping anyone, but commenting that the same type of restaurant (they are small out of the way here usually) has violations does set a tone to me. It does not stop me one bit from eating those foods but I do try to choose the ones that exhibit their "number''.

Tabernash2 -

You've burst my naïve bubble...I've never seen a roach in CO. I'm really bummed out to discover that my home state isn't as bug-free as I thought it was.

I found the report interesting, though thankfully, I'm unfamiliar with the offending establishments.
