December Family Vacation

Due to the ridiculous schedule of our kids school district they are off for winter break until the first week of January. Our family has decided this would be the perfect time to take a vaction. Our kids are 13 and 9 and we are considering a city vacation (big cities are incredible during the holidays) or a beach vacation. Any suggestions...

where are you coming from? How far are you willing to travel? Where have you already been? What do your kids like to do? Is warm weather important to you? Once we have more information, we can better help you

We traveled this year during the holidays and I loved it! We left the morning the day after Christmas and returned a few days after New Years... I highly recommend it!

If it were me I'd be taking a cruise.

We plan on doing the same thing this year...we are leaving from Austin, TX but I don't have a destination yet!! No skiing, husband just had knee surgery...warm weather OK, love the outdoors and short hikes(3 Miles or less) The kids like the outdoors. I thought about a cabin in Arkansas, San Fransico. I am open for suggestions. We plan on leaving Dec 26 or 27.

well it depends on the kind of vacation you like doing- if you like themeparks then Orlando Florida is a great city. if the kids are into museums i would suggest Chicago- lots of greats stuff for kids and a beautiful city. San Diego -Los Angelas can also be a good place- since there are tons of stuff to do there
if you're looking for more ideas or what to do in each place there is a site that has good vacatin ideas, it's not very userfriendly, but once you get the hang of it it's useful
