Death Valley and Vegas

While in Vegas for a week, we are thinking about driving to Death Valley to tour (we'll be there mid-March). How far would that be and is it worthwhile?

Anything else nearby in CA to see if we'd make a day trip from Vegas?

Just want to break up the gambling with some western sites.

If you type "Death Valley" in the text search box you'll find the answers to these questions, which have been posted several times....

180 miles and close to 4 hours travel time. It is a worthwhile visit. If you do a search scroll down until you see posts with the title "Death Valley". If you don't you will be spending much time looking for a mention of Death Valley in dozens of threads

If you go to Death Valley, get to the north end and visit Scotty's Castle, it is very interesting and unusual. We've been a couple of times and enjoy our trips to Death Valley. Even if you just drive through it and stop a couple of places you'll find interesting things to see and learn about.

YES - definitely worthwhile to go to Death Valley. Not too long of a drive from Vegas. Amazing place. Very different.
