Sorry, traviata that its not looking good for you. elberko, sorry you will miss it. Kja, still hoping you can make it.

TDudette -- you are probably correct on gruezi -- on the thread in the lounge she posted
"I'm probably not going to be able to make that but I will cross my fingers for a shift in the universe." I took that as a No, but perhaps should be a "not likely but maybe!"

Other than a post above on July 2, where deladeb posted
"Both dates work for me."
I havent heard from deladeb

I will be driving back from NYC to Virginia on the 3rd and so I am probably out. I will have my mom with me and just don't think we will be there in time. I thank the santimonicas for generously offering their home and hope to be able to attend another time to meet so many of you!!!

So, as we always say on the travel fora - 'you gotta' be flexible !!!'

Now, my plans have changed again (and again, out of my control)and I WILL BE ABLE TO JOIN YOUALL AT THE GTG on October 3rd. I am so pleased about that. I might even be tempted to bring potato salad (just kidding).

See you October 3rd.

OK, Here is the First List and Preliminary Info. I will send you the santas' address via private email in a few days.

In one month, October 3, we will be holding the 5th DC GTG at Noon at the home of the santamonicas. In the meantime, please let me know here or via email of any corrections. If you need some Metro pickup help, please say and yestravel will contact you. If you are just seeing this, or if your plans have changed, you are welcome to join us.

We are planning a pot luck. Here is santamonica's previous post:

"I don't want to be to worry about what people bring. Some people can bring salad, some pasta, some beer, some wine, some dessert. We'll make some chicken Marbella and tortillas. Maybe you can post what you're bringing so everybody won't bring potato salad. Although I like potato salad. I won't hide your potato salad."

Kindly post your food on this thread so I don't get confused with a lot of emails. Looking forward to this, TDude.

With regrets, I must finally admit defeat -- I will not be able to attend.

My sincere thanks for all the efforts that yestravel, TDudette, and santamonica have made, and my best wishes for what I'm sure will be a delightful afternoon.

TDudette, yestravel, and santamonica, thank you for continuing to be so organized in coordinating this GTG.

I'm looking forward to it and can help with anyone needing transportation especially from Alexandria area.

Since it will be October, I will bring some sort of salad with apples or pears in it. I will probably bring cookies too. TDudette or Yestravel - should I check my personal e-mail for santamonica's address?

Thanks, marnie -- can't have too much wine or too many desserts.

We'll bring wine and a grain (quinoa, farro or the like) dish.

yestravel, I look forward to catching up too. I leave on the 8th.

Not sure yet what I'll bring but maybe I'll be inspired by something from Italy!

I plan to bring a couple of bottles of white wine and some type of appetizer. It likely will involve cheese as most of my life involves cheese in some form.

Janet - and I say, one can never go wrong if cheese is in a dish. I look forward to meeting you. I believe you frequent my all time fav restaurant, the Inn.
