I live in Seattle and am bored to tears. I hate it here, especially now, with the rain season setting in. I just wanted to get out of town for a day but there is no where to go, it is so isolated from everywhere. I wish I was in Europe...

Wow, I love living in Seattle. Too bad you aren't liking it. Can you plan a trip to somewhere sunny this winter? Like Hawaii or Mexico (is where I always go).
As far as day trips in the area, Remlinger Farms is fun in the fall season. Whidbey Island makes a nice day or 1-night trip. I like Captain Whidbey Inn there. A ferry ride over to Bainbridge Island and back. San Juan islands or the Pacific coast beaches are nice in winter (but really need at least 1 overnight stay).
Or how about activities around the city? Have you been to all the museums. The Frye is a good one and free. SAM and SAM Asian, Burke museum, etc.
