Dauphine Orleans Hotel, New Orleans
I have just made reservations at this hotel
for 3 nights in June 2000. Has anyone stayed here and can give me comments about their stay, good or bad? Also, is 3 nights enough time for a first time visitor to New Oleans?
I'd like to stay 4 nights but my husband thinks 3 nights will be enough.

I live near this hotel and stayed there once years ago. I haven't been in it in at least five years, but there are regular posters on this forum that swear by it. BRIAN IN ATLANTA stays there - maybe he can give you some insight. It's a good location - close to the action but not directly in the middle of the noise. I say stay for 4 nights, so you can slow your pace down a little. It will already be pretty hot heear and you should take your time seeing what you want to see here. Enjoy!

Do a search for "Dauphine Orleans" under Louisiana and you'll get a lot of info. Be patient, the search feature is slow, but try again if you get timed out.
We still like the Dauphine Orleans a lot. It's starting to show its wear (we had trouble with the heat last time) but it still has great people and a great location. Get one of the 3rd floor Dauphine street balcony rooms. It's quiet at night.
Three nights = three dinners. Sounds like enough time to me.

We stayed there last year. I loved the place. Ask for a room with a balcony, also they have evergreen rooms. Purified water and robes, I absolutely loved it. Very quaint and privite, nice courtyard with pool, ususally had the pool to ourselves as well as the courtyard. This place is wonderful.
