Damage in Gulf Shores from hurricane Dennis

What is the situation in Gulf Shores after hurricane Dennis? Is the power on everywhere? Are gas stations and other tourist services available?

Power in not on everywhere, but they are working on it. You would have to make some phone calls to see if much is open for business. Reports we are hearing from our area (about 3 hours away) are that things are not quite ready to return to normal yet. I doubt many, if any, folks from that area will be online to offer much help any time soon, so I'd call if I were you.

Good luck!

To BayouGal,

Thanks for your reply! I was concerned because my son, his wife, & four little children left to go to Gulf Shores on Tuesday to vacation there. They understood there was little damage there.

I don't know if you mean Gulf Shores, Alabama, but we have friends who have a house on the beach there. They said there was no storm surge and their house was fine (it sustained moderate damage in the storms of last year). Just talked to them today.
