Dallas Visit

Visiting Dallas for businees. I have the opportunity to stay for the weekend. What's to see? Not into sports and bars.

Into nature, history, shopping. A real tourist. Not into bars but like country music if there is somewhere to enjoy with a music crowd rather than a bar crowd.

What's to see in Ft. Worth?

P.S. A good deal on a good pair of Cowboy Boots would be a boost.

What's to see in Fort Worth? Kimball Art Museum (world class), stockyards, smaller art museums, etc. FW has much more to offer a tourist than does Dallas. The Sixth Floor Museum (where JFK was shot) is probably the best attraction in Dallas--and everyone should see it.

There is good shopping in Dallas in the West Village off McKinney and Lemmon Ave. There's a Magnolia art movie house, restaurants (Ferre-italian, TacoDiner-texmex, TomTom Noodle-asian) and a bunch of cool stores. You can take the trolley from the Dallas Museum of Art.
More shopping at Mockingbird Station. Angelika movie house, Virgin megastore, Urban Outfitters, restaurants (Cafe-Express-salads,sandwiches,pasta,chicken-really good; Rockfish; an Asian place and many others. You can reach it by Dart train.
6th Floor Museum is great. So is Nasher Sculpture Center, Arboretum near White Rock Lake.
Not sure where the best deals on cowboy boots would be...there is a store in the West End Market Place, Sheplers locations throughout DFW.
Fort Worth has...Kimball and Modern art museums. Botanical Garden with a wonderful Japanese garden. Ft Worth Zoo - one of the best in the country. Stockyards are kind of touristy, but interesting.
For country music, look on guidelive.com. That should tell you where to go.
Depending on the weekend...Bass Hall in Ft Worth has excellent shows.
