D.C. Weather on July 4, 2003

The forecast for July 4 in DC sounds pretty good today. Sunny, hi 70s, not humid. That is, of course, subject to change. Weatherman said temps dropped 16 degrees when that cold front came in yesterday.

So, I heard it said that the easiest job in the U.S. is being a weatherperson in L.A.: just forecast 72 and sunny every day and you'll be right 95% of the time. I say the second easiest job is weatherperson in D.C.: forecast whatever you want and you'll be wrong 95% of the time but just as good as all the other forecasts.

Lived in D.C. in late 80s. Went to July 4th celebrations. High was 110 with about 100% humidity.

I wouldnt trust ANY weather forecasting equipment or person, espescially the latter and espescially there, this far in advance!

Actually now that think of it July 4th isn't that far away! My God WHERE did June go! Actually it is still kinda early to rely on an accurate forecast. When I lived there it almost didn't pay to listen to the weather reports b/c they would invariably be wrong in Balto/DC area. The reports I've been getting from friends in the area is that it rains like every day since early May! This is the first time I didn't hear that actually when I called last night they said it had been nice. July, while not New Orleans or Houston level, can be pretty miserable in DC and for some reason Baltimore always seemed more humid, but DC was still pretty humid most of summer.

Actually one of the easiest jobs I think in the world is a weather person in Western Australia! hot...hot... really hot... VERY hot... hot again.

We had an unusually cool spring here in DC, but last week's arrival of summer also brought with it 98 degree temperatures. However, a rain yesterday broke the heat, and we're back to moderate temps (highs in the low to mid 80s), which promise to hand around to the end of the week, in time for the 4th.

Today's paper says it will be partly sunny and humid, with a high of 92 degrees on the 4th.

Well, it was actually about 94 and humid! To be correct here, just say humid with a chance of thunderstorms all summer, and you can't go wrong!
