In my experience YNP accommodations will fill up far in advance, as you've found - but they won't stay fully booked.

As the travel date approaches the people who have booked far ahead but no longer need the rooms will start to cancel. Keep looking from time to time on the YNP website, especially in the month or so before your arrival.

Personally I prefer Yosemite Lodge over the other in-valley places. For me it's the right balance of comfort, convenience, and price.

I will keep looking at the YNP site as time gets closer to June..I've just never been to Yosemite and got excited about being IN the valley since I don't know what to compare it to. I think I got bothered too because I read in other posts from other web sites how dusty and dirty the beds and walls are of the tents and I have horrible allergies..i'm sure the cabins may be no different.
