Cruising With a Cast
Hi,
We're taking a 4-day cruise from LA to Ensenada at the end of the month. I have broken my ankle and will have a walking, foot-to-knee cast/boot during the time of the cruise.
Would anyone recommend/not recommend going on the cruise with the cast?
Thanks for in advance for a quick response ...

I broke both my ankles once and had 2 walking casts at the same time many years back(Celebrating a friends 21-er...don't ask!)
I rode my bike, went dancing, and generally did everything except swim in them! And these were the old heavy plaster casts!
Just make sure to dump the boot if the ship goes down!!

took my daughter on a short vacation while she had a small PLASTIC cast on her wrist. She even went swimming.
Larger cast on her elbow was not a problem either, did not stop her from doing anything.
Make sure you have a plastic cast and go for it!

The only downsides I can see are that you would get hotter than without a cast, and for myself, I would get jealous to see others enjoying the clear water if I couldn't join them. If there's any way to be able to swim, it would be worth finding out.
Otherwise, you'll probably get a lot of attention and solicitous behavior from everyone. I took a cruise when almost 7 months pregnant, and everyone wanted to take care of me.
