Crater lake-mt bailey

I’m taking a trip with some friends this July and we will be going to crater lake along with a long list of other Oregon scenic places. I’m curious if anyone has taken the mt bailey trail. It looks to be a beautiful summit hike from what I can gather but I was curious how well groomed this trail is. I’m concerned that if we attempt it we might get lost on our way up. Or not know which way to go and turn around too early and miss the good stuff. Is this trail pretty straight forward or is it worth investing in a good map before we go? We would also be hiking in from the upper trailhead and I’m wondering how difficult it is to get to the trail this way? I drive a lifted Jeep Cherokee but again I don’t want to miss the trail if it isn’t marked. I’ve read it’s a rough terrain road but that’s all I’ve been able t gather about it. Thanks in advance.

Just watched that Crater Lake has besides Yosemite, myriad of missing persons.
Don't laugh but lots of talk and sightings of Sasquatch.
Its beautiful up there tho'.
Have fun!

I have been on a segment of the trail on Mt. Bailey while looking for a couple of geocaches a few years ago. My opinion for what it's worth is to park at the trail head for Mt. Thielsen and hike as high as you want. I have never been to the top of Bailey or Thielsen but I do know a female geocacher who has reached the top of Thielsen.
The Pacific Crest Trail goes through Crater Lake National Park (N-S).
Several of the Forest Service roads on Bailey are closed to motor vehicles. Don't get caught where you are not supposed to be with your Jeep.
