Could you please suggest a winter resourt in Northern Wisconsin

We live in Chicago, and would like to go to Northern Wisconsin (or anywhere within driving distance where we can find some real snow) for several days (4-5 days) sometimes in winter. The ideal destination would be were we can enjoy a cross country skiing in the woods, ice skating, sled rides, relaxing in a pool/sauna, and nice dining.
Could you please suggest the towns and resorts we should try?
Thank you in advance for all your suggestion!

I can recommend Indianhead Mountain in northern WI (near Mercer) or Boyne MT in northern MI. Indianhead does not seem to have a website.

Boyne usually has better snow conditions due to lake effect snow. But both places meet your criteria.

Cheribob, thanks for your suggestions! I looked up the Indianhead Mountain, and it looks good, but it seems like more like downhill skiing type of area.
Boyne looks good. I have never heard of this place before.

Try Wausau, Check for snow conditions on Rib Mountain. Another choice, the Wolf River Lodge at Langlade. Maybe best of all..Eagle River!

Take a look at Telemark Resort in Cable, WI (near Hayward). Late February is pretty busy during the Birkebeiner.

Thank you, guys! I will check it out! GSteed, could you recommend any resourt around Eagle River? My husband used to go there years ago, and loved it. Unfortunatly, he does not remember where he used to stay

Sorry, I am not up to date with Eagle River. Vilas County is a weekend destination. Inquire at the Wisconsin Tourist center in Madison, Wis. They are a most informed agency. Snow conditions are a problem. Chances are that mid-January thru mid-February will be best....Search, Jesse's Wolf River Lodge at Langlade, Wi.

Yes, the Wisconsin Dept. of Tourism can certainly help. Also consider Door County.
