Coronado Island Vs. Newport Beach?
Hi everyone
Received a travel guide from Coronado Island Visitors bureau and now I am waiting for info from Newport beach.....I am in the planning stages for my vacation next spring, which I will celebrating my 40th birthday, and wanted to vacation someplace very nice, with uncrowded beaches, nice scener, good attractions, good restaurants and some nightlife. The Coronado brochure looks great! However, you can't always judge a book by its cover.....What do you recommend, for the type of vacation I described above??? My husband is an amusement park enthusiast, but since this is my birthday, we are going where I want to go..I would like visit at least some of the attractions in San Diego, as well explore Coronado island..But newport beach also looks inviting..(from what i saw on their website)
Thank you for all suggestions

You couldn't do wrong with either choice. Both are great places to spend a few days. I hate to confuse you even more, but I think you should really consider Laguna Beach as well. It's located along the coast in south Orange County and is great. Art galleries, good restaurants, nice beaches, etc.

The beaches from Newport to San Clemente are all great; lots of restaurants & entertainment in the Newport/Balboa Island area, rather artsie in Laguna, less crowded at San Clemente. Coronado area is rather crowded, but San Diego is a good city to visit. So, rent a car & go to both areas. Easter is 3/31 next year, so don't go that weekend. Actually, it's about mid-April before you can count on it being warm enough to sun bathe.
