Cool things to do in Seattle
I'm a brazilian journalist and I'm writing an article about Seattle and I would like to put in it some american view; for example: 5 hints about places to go or things to do while in Seattle. Nothing for tourists, just simple things that people love to do in Seattle.
Thank´s a lot for your help and I would be happy to do the same if you come or need some information about Brazil!

Renata,
Lots of the tourist things are actually the things Seattle natives enjoy doing like, going to the Public Market to hang out and shop. Great seafood, fruits and veggies. Coffee shops on and near Broadway on Capital Hill and everywhere. The Jazz Alley for music. There are often community festivals or other local events to attend all over the city. Skiing in winter, hiking in any number of parks. Go to the Arboretum near Madison Park. Shopping downtown or at numerous malls. The libraries are wonderful in many neighborhoods. Lots of family friendly things to do. Check the local news magazines Seattle's Child or Eastside Parent. Walking around Greenlake in the north end of Seattle. Good luck.

We are living here in Seattle: Restaurants: Kaizuka, Japanese in the Oriental district:
Public market: Great mix of people and
stuff to eat.
Take the ferry to Winslow: (can get on as a foot passenger and see a bit of life on the islands)
Jetfoil to Victoria: A day out of the country.
Museum of Flight: One of the best aeronautical museums in the world.
Snoqualamie Falls: about a 45 min trip to the east out of the city.

Dear Renata:
Be sure to look at the tall PALM TREES at the Ballard Locks and just OUTSIDE the greenhouse at the Arboretun visitor center.
And, for a Latin dining experience, try COPACABANA in the Pike Place Market (it's great--I signed my first book contract on the terrace about 20 years ago).
