Construction near D.C.??

Flying in to Reagan/National/DCA airport tomorrow, Thursday,19JUL01. Is there any construction on the GW Parkway heading north? How about I-495(or the Beltway in general) & I-270 heading north? Is there any on I-95 between Baltimore & DC, or I-395 in Baltimore? Thanks for any info.

There is construction on the Beltway near Rt. 29 Colesville Road, at least on the outer loop. Don't know if it's on the inner loop also. I-395 is in DC, not Baltimore--did you mean a different road in Baltimore?

There's minor work on the GW Parkway near Rossyln, but nothing to be concerned about. Nothing on the beltway near 70/270. Major work on N95 at the beltway entrance by Springfield, Va., and widening work next to the BW going toward Wilson Bridge. If you could indicate route and destination, I could be more specific. Ciao

Thanks, that is what I need to know. Sorry about the location of I 395. 1 day we are going to Six Flags America, another day we are going to Mt.Vernon. This is all starting from near Sam Eig Hiagway. Then another day we are going to Baltimore - Inner Harbor & then Ft McHenry. Then driving from Baltimore to Ocean City (via some of the smaller highways once we get across the bridge - not taking 50 all the way there). We are doing this drive on Sunday, so hopefully alot of the traffic will be coming back from the beaches & there won't be a big bottleneck at the bridge in our direction. Thanks.

Some construction at Mt. Vernon, but nothing on the GW Parkway coming north to Alexandria. If you use the beltway between 395 and Wilson Bridge, monitor the traffic and avoid during rush hours. Going to Baltimore, there's some minor construction north on the BW Parkway, and watch for police radar. Since you are headed to the Eastern Shore on Sunday, the Bay Bridge will be fast and smooth for you. Look at a map: an interesting route after the bridge would be Rte. 50 East, then exit at Rte. 404 (I think), and small roads to Rehobeth Beach, and then south along the Atlantic to OC, MD. Scenic. A good place to stop is the Indian River Inlet to watch them fish. Further south from OC is the northern end of Assateague Island where you can see the ponies. Have a good trip. Ciao
