We are planning a trip to Maui...and possibly staying at the Westin Villas. I read on some site that the Westin in Maui has resumed a construction project. Does anyone know if this is true? I've called the Westin and they deny any construction at their property or surrounding areas. I just wanted to confirm before I finalize our plans.

I don't know if this makes any difference, but there are two Westins on Maui - the Villas, which are north of Black Rock, and the hotel, which is south of Black Rock. Are you certain you called the right one?

We just returned from a stay at the Westin Villas NORTH. There was not any construction that I could see. there is a sister villa property next door and they also did not appear to be under construction. BUT that villa property was doing a major exterior painting job - plastic sheeting covering an entire section of rooms, etc. You would think it would be done by February. To be safe, I would call all 3 Westin properties --the Westin Hotel, the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas and the WKORV North and also ask if they will be starting any projects soon.
