Condo/Resort for Kauai Honeymoon
My fiancee and I are getting married on Kauai the first of October. Any suggestions as to where to stay? We are contemplating Hanalei Bay Resort, Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation, Aston Poipu Kai and Aston Beach Villas. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated! We would like maid service, a restaurant on the grounds, pool (more than 3 feet deep), jacuzzi and at least a refrigerator in the room. Thanks!

My wife and I just got back from Kauai for our honeymoon. You are in for a treat. The place is truly paradise. Be sure to rent a convertible at least one day and visit all four shores.
We stayed in the Embassay in Poipu and Aston Beach Villas in Lihue. If you are beach lovers, I advise looking for a place in Poipu. Aston Beach Villas does not have maid service although it has a full kitchen. The Outrigger is next door to it. However, the beach is not swimmable. If you want a super posh resort, the Hyatt in Poipu will make your mouth drop. Whatever you choose you can't go wrong because Kauai is so beautiful.

You are going to love "my island", as i like to think of Kauai. It is so beautiful there. I also vote that the best hotel on the south shore, Poipu area, is the Hyatt. IF you cannot afford itm, do go there for lunch or dinner and walk the grounds. Also their Luau is very nice. We did it last year for the first time and it is no more spendy than others but offers a better outdoor setting, if weather is good, and the free drink choices are varied, unlike just mai-tais at the other luaus.
For condo choices, there are alot to choose from in the area. We like Lawai Beach Resort. It has
a great setting but only twice week maid service. No restaurant on site but across the street is one of the best restaurents on the island, the Beach House. You must go here for a veryu romantic dinner. Go for the first seating at sunset so you can experience the ambiance. It is a bit pricey but worth every penny!
A plus for a condo, is that it is like having your own apartment. You have a full kitchen and washer/dryer which is a big plus. Nice to be able to have snacks in the fridge, champagne , or whatever without the outrageous costs and inconvenience of room service. Also it is nice to fix your own meals once and awhile and have that privacy . In the morning I just like to make my own coffee and sit on the lanai and enjoy the birds etc.. Not a big "go to the restaurant" morning person. Its nice on your honeymoon to be able to relax in your robe and eat without going to the hotel restaurant.
Also here a few web sites that may be helpful to you. www.Kauairentals.com, ww.poipu-beach.org.
Have a great, romantic honeymoon. I guarantee you will return to celebrate many anniversarys.

You are going to LOVE Kauai. But, unlike the others I suggest the NORTH shore. There isn't a LOT of night life, but it is peaceful, laid back and simply beautiful!! The beaches are great and if you surf, we have that too on the north side. The famous Hanalei Bay is on the north side, where several movies have featured it. There are great restaurants as well. For staying here, I would recommend Hanalei Bay Resort, The Cliffs @ Princeville, are condo units with daily maid service, very nice property also, they both have pools and tennis courts. Cliffs phone # is: 1-800-626-6219. If you want any more info on Kauai, feel free to e-mail me, I have lived here for 10 years now. BTW, the Hyatt at Poipu has THE best pool.
Aloha & Have a great honeymoon on the island.
