Compact Cars do not qualify for National Emerald Aisle

Found out when I returned a car last week.
I reserved a compact and picked a car from the aisle (as always).
No problem upon exiting.
Return the next day and got a bill for 180.00, not the rate of 70. I was quoted in the confirmed reservation.
Had to go to the counter to straighten it out. No problems... I love National but it could have been avoided had I known that compacts cannot be picked up via the aisle.
Funny thing is, our rate for compact, intermediate and full is the same... I just wanted a small car for this trip.
So, just be aware if you are an Emerald Aisle member.

I thought the Emerald Aisle was mid size cars (or better) - at least that's always been my experience. What model car did you pick up?

Well, I am an top level renter, whatever it is called. I get cars from the exec selection.
I selected a new Toyota Tundra 4WD, lol!
I initially wanted a tiny car but figured what the heck when I saw that truck.
Now typically this is not a problem, I get whatever car I want from that aisle... and as I said, the cost for a compact is like 1.00 less than an intermediate for my company.
But it's all good... I now know that I have to book an intermediate or full to use the aisle.
I guess I never knew because I pretty much always book intermediate.
Also, we do not book on the National site, which may notify you that the compact rental does not qualify for aisle service.

But for someone booking a vacation or personal rental, who wants to take advantage of the aisle service, you MUST book a intermediate or larger.
