Colorado in July HELP PLEASE
HELP !
My husband is going on a business trip to Colorado Springs for five days.. and we could stay on a bit longer if we want .. I am thinking of going along but want to be convinced there is something for me to do out there .. We are not hikers or campers .. not real outdoor kinds of people! We live in Boston and love it here .. We love the ocean .. dining out .. he loves golfing and I love shopping .. He mentioned maybe we could go to Aspen .. or Denver .. I would appreciate any help or suggestions of things to do and places to visit ... Thank you .. !

mahs, Colorado Springs will be a dissapointment to you, Poor food, shopping, good golf though. Colorado Springs is extremely conservative. For shopping and food, Aspen is good also Vail which is closer. The golf courses usally open late May early June.

Try Denver--it's relatively close to Colorado Springs--it has good shopping (try Cherry Creek shopping district),good restaurants (Adega, Luca d'Italia, Mizuna,Deluxe-to name a few--or go to Boulder to Frasca--most if not all of these have a website, good golf courses (per my husband, the golfer).
Of course, Aspen is beautiful--but is a several hours drive from Colorado Springs.

Hi Mahs, Don't know who those folks are that responded to your message but Colorado Springs is a GREAT place! We moved out here from Florida after many summers traveling the southewest looking for a place to retire. Yes, the religious right is in evidence here but they don't affect my beliefs or how I live. The area is fantastic. Lots of great places to eat and lots to see and do, even if you are not big on hiking or such. Just to name a few things to see: Pikes Peak (Cog Railway or drive), Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, Air Force Academy, Seven Falls, and lots of great drives through the mountains. Come on out and enjoy some of the wonderful things to see and do here in the southwest.
