We will e in Williamsburg ,VA for a few days the end of June. After you've toured the colonial area, what else can a couple and one child do? Suggestions welcome! Any suggestions on modest accomodations? Thanks !

We toured Williamsburg several years ago and after spending a few days there we took our children to Busch Gardens, which is a theme park with rides, etc. You don't say how old your child is so I'm not sure this is appropriate for you. Also, we visited Jamestown which was completely different than Williamsburg, very interesting. You shouldn't have any problem finding modest accommodations, the area abounds in all sorts of lodging places. Also, make sure you give yourself enough time in colonial Williamsburg, there is more there than meets the eye. Have a good trip!

As Joy said, Busch Gardens is definitely a fun place to visit. They also have a water park called Water Country USA which is great for kids of all ages (and adults too!). If you like to shop, there's tons of outlet stores too... Go to Busch Garden's though, you won't be disappointed.

I am a single mom with three daughters age 15,12,8. I am planning a trip from CT to Wrightsville beach NC in aug. I know that I need to break the trip up and have safe decent lodging. I would like to drive form ct to washington and spent two nights. Then drive to NC Beach. On the return I need to spent trtwo nights in Williamburg. Want to go to Busch Gardens. Can you recommed lodgingin the 100-150 range? Are there any travel discounts to be had? Thanks

As others have already told you, Busch Gardens is a very nice place to visit. Without knowing the age of your child, it is hard to say whether of not they are old enough for this type of theme park.

Each year my friends and I take our annual "shopping trip" to the outlet in Williamsburg. We always stay at the Holiday Inn Express on the by-pass road. The rates are usually reasonable, the rooms are clean, and they provide a continental breakfast in the morning. We find it convenient for all of the attractions. Enjoy your stay.

My husband and I often visit Williamsburg, but my friends and I go every year for our annual "outlet shopping trip." We always stay at the Holiday Inn Express. The rates are usually affordable, the rooms are clean and they provide a continental breakfast. It is located on the by-pass road and is convenient to everything in Williamsburg. There are loads of places to stay, but since you are heading there in June. I would get my reservations early. You can find all types of rooms and rates. The Holiday Inn Express is not an elaborate place, but we do not spend a lot of time in the room. It has always served our needs well. Good Luck and enjoy your visit.

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Patriot in Williamsburg. The rroms are $89.00 with AAA discount. Kids eat free breakfast AND dinner if they are staying in your room and under 12. They also have two pools, indoor and outdoor. Hope this helps!

Check out the Williamsburg Hotel/Motel Association site... they offer great packages with tickets to all of the attractions + GREAT deals on hotels. Their rates far surpass AAA!
