Where are you going. There are innumerable 'typical" college towns.

Mikemo,

I totally agree with you. The years I went to dances there Mike, were '64 & '65. We could have been ships in the night.

I go to Iowa State in Ames. The campus is BEAUTIFUL. I also went to Simpson in Indianola, IA (10 minutes south of Des Moines.) It is also gorgeous. But now I'm biased, so I would suggest Ames!

Too bad your are only going as far as the mid-west. Penn State, Main Campus in Pennsylvania is beautiful!!! Maybe next time! Just had to put my 2 cents!

JJ5,
Way amazing!
I'm clueless re: all your troubles (toils and snares), but if you need a real break, come visit. You and sig other are welcome at my house most anytime (www.miradorhomes.com has the now older virtual tour).
The high season for the SW US is about to begin and friends and family will be here lots in June, July and August, so let me know.

I second Indiana University in Bloomington for the following additional reasons: Not only is the campus beautiful (stately buildings of limestone from the surrounding quarries), but the whole area has wonderful geographical features as well--About a half-hour east of B-town is Brown County State Park, a beautiful wooded and hilly area. Also the town of Nashville, IN just on the outskirts of Brown County S.P.--Kind of touristy, but quaint and fun. Nearby Lake Monroe also offers quite a bit of recreational activities.
Don't know if you're into music, but Indiana U. is nationally known for their music school, and there is almost always a concert, opera, or recital going on, all of highest caliber.
Plus, the town of Bloomington is fun! It's so upbeat in mood, and everyone is positive and friendly--It's hard not to enjoy yourself in Bloomington! Have a great trip!
