Coeur d'Alene and/or Sandpoint, ID

Planning a 2 week loop from Spokane > Colfax > Joseph > Walla Walla > ?????? for our last night and next entire day before heading to Spokane for an 11 pm flight. Thinking of staying in Coeur d'Alene and then heading to Sandpoint > Priest Lake area > Spokane coming in from the north. Or just going to Sandpoint the last day. Is it a good town to stroll around? Heard it has a nice art scene. A farmers market would be a plus, too.

Any suggestions of places to stay in either town or things to do? Don't want to just mark time on our last day in the area. Gentle walks (hikes would be great, too, but don't want to be all sweaty for a red eye flight) or nice scenery would be good. Perhaps there's something we should see in Spokane?

I've spent a lot of time visiting this area and Sandpoint is a cute, small town. But with only one day, I'd stick to Coeur d'Alene. Take a boat cruise, have a burger at Hudson's Hamburgers and enjoy an easy hike of Tubbs Hill. All easily accessible from the downtown area, while enjoying beautiful scenery.

Coeur d'Alene is very pretty. Sandpoint is known for its amusement park-we haven't been. We have friends who have a vacation home up on Priest Lake. It is supposed to be beautiful. The thing people love to do is get out on the water. You can rent boats up there but if it's not in your comfort zone to do that, I'm not sure it's the best use of your time.

Joseph is worth a few days. the lake and mountains are beautiful. We enjoyed the gondola ride. The horse ride we did there was a little steep if you don't ride a lot, but beautiful views. Be sure to stop and see Chief Joseph's grave, just outside the state park.

Also: If you are going from Joseph to Walla Walla, I presume that you are taking 82 to LaGrande, then going up I-84 to Pendleton before turning north. If so, I would strongly encourage a stop at this Native American Museum about 4 miles or so south of downtown Pendleton. It is very well done.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think we will not go to Priest Lake area, but are still debating about going on to Sand Point. The. boat ride does sound relaxing

Anything you think we should particularly see in Spokane?
