Closest hotel to Oakland Coliseum

Anybody know what the closest (nice) hotel is to the Oakland Coliseum? Thanks.

You will be better off staying in a nice hotel in downtown San Francisco within walking distance of a BART station and taking BART to the Coliseum. Very easy.

Hi Dave, Well this is part of a more complicated travel plan, and I think I'd rather just stay near the stadium unless it's a lousy area or something. Also, have had some bad experiences trying to get on subways after baseball games (in Boston when all 30,000 people are trying to get on!).

Well it is a very lousy area around the Coliseum, so try a search of hotels near Oakland Airport or Jack London Square and then take a cab to the event. BART is definitely the way to go though. If you did that you could choose from hotels in SF, Berkeley, Downtown Oakland, Pleasanton, Walnut Creek, Lafayette...

(There is a station right at the Coliseum Complex - just walk over the skybridge from the train station)

Another vote for staying near a BART station away from the Coliseum. Taking the BART to and from the game is pretty easy - the station is right there. Oakland has some nice areas, but near the Coliseum doesn't happen to be one of them.

to continue:check out Jack London Square. Look at the Waterfront Hotel. You will be in an area that has some good restaurants, a great Jazz venue, movies etc and it is a quick trip to the coliseum probably even a reasonable cab ride and fare if you want to avoid the crowds in BART.
