We drove directly from Cleveland to Toronto during the summer of '97. It took about 8 hours! At that time the PA or NY turnpike was under construction and the traffice was heavy. I thought the trip would never end. Once we got to Niagara Falls there was a big log jam trying to get across the border. But once in Canada the driving was fine. Good luck!

Actually, Amish Country is only about an hour from Cleveland. Take I-77 south to Dover exit and take route 39 into Walnut Creek, Sugar Creek area. Lots of shops and "amish" stuff there. There are a lot faster ways to get there, but not being from the area this route is the easiest to describe to you.
