Clearwater - Anyone stay at Shephard's Lagoon?

We're thinking of staying at this resort on Clearwater Beach. Has anyone ever stayed here? Good location, nice beachfront?
Thanks.

Here's another option: The Radisson Suites at Sand Key. Sand Key is just over the bridge from Clearwater Beach and the Radisson is relatively new. We've stayed there several times in the past couple of years and have enjoyed it a lot. The only liability is the beach, which is small and on the bay, but there's a huge public beach only minutes away that has always been virtually empty when we've been there.

I lived in Clearwater for 15 years and travel there twice a year. We stay on the north end of CLearwater Beach. The Doubletree hotel has a great beach. You can walk for miles on the north end. The CLearwater Beach hotel is beautiful too $$$. We stayed in a condo called "The Surfside" on Idlewild drive. They have there own web site, I bet you could find it. The beach is well maintained by the beach authorities. The trolley runs down the main drag to take you to many area restaurants. Be sure to check out Frenchy's. Have a great time.

You might look into the Sheraton Sand Key. It is an older property but--like in many areas--has the best beach in the area. Nice pool area too. Rooms are your basic motel type, but you can't beat the beach and pool, and as I recall prices were reasonable.
