Chicago - vacation apt rental - has anyone done this?

Hi,

I've read dozens and dozens of threads here on Chicago, and have only come across 3 threads in which the Fodorite has rented an apt for their vacation in Chicago. 2 rented via SP suites, and one rented a listing on VRBO.

Is there anyone else here who has rented an apt in Chicago but hasn't posted about it? I'd love to know which apt you rented and how it turned out.

I have looked through dozens of apt listings on VRBO and Homeaway, as well as tripadvisor listings. I have sent off several inquiries for availability, but it's always nice to rent a place with a positive review from a fellow Fodorite.

Thanks in advance.

Did you ever learn anything more about apartment rentals in Chicago from other sources? You're right--there's not much on Fodor about this.

yk, I can't recommend any one apt, but I can tell you that I rented in Venice via VRBO and had a great experience. I have read all good things about VRBO- that they will go out of their way to fix anything that goes wrong.

Have you been to Chicago before? My hometown, and a wonderful place to visit! Have fun!

First time as a tourist in Chicago ( 3 days at a conference doesn't count!) We'd love to hear about out of the way restaurants, walks to take, etc.

luciemom, you'd get many more responses if you post a new thread asking for restaurants. Also, if you do a search here for Chicago, you'll find TONS of threads on restaurants and the CAF river cruise.
